3rd Annual Farm Festival

We are putting the finishing touches on our most spectacular event of the year, and perhaps the only Jewish Farm Festival in the world. This year we are having all kinds of new events and fun that will promise to inspire, entertain, and enliven. The event will be held September 14th 1-5 pm. Farming Surging Forward

The farm is really moving forward thanks to the hard work of Tuvia Helfen. It is really amazing to watch all of the bounty grow from tiny seeds. We have already started our small 12 family member csa (community supported agriculture) where people buy shares of the produce in the beginning of the year. Greens, radishes, basil, and summer squash have been enjoyed by the members. We look forward to many other vegetables. We have been selling produce to the local coops, to help us subsidize this endeavor. Clink on the link above for more farm info, pictures of the crops, and programs.

Groups Visit EHC

This Wednesday through Friday July 9-11th we have had the merit of a very special group of kids. Their program is called Tiyul. They come from the 92nd St. Y in Manhattan. The purpose of their program is to travel around the country helping out and supporting various organizations. There were about 40 kids in the group and they camped out for two days on the land. They all brought their instruments, their joy, and most importantly (for us) their working spirits. We are in the process of creating a park which raps around a good portion of EHC. This park will be going through the forest. There is a lot of work to do and this group has transformed a major section of the forest into a beautiful park space. On behalf of EHC we want to thank these wonderful people from the depths of our hearts. Yasher Koach. You should be blessed with a successful trip and if the we all had your attitude Moshiach would be here already.

We also want to thank Shmuel Simonowitz for organizing this program and dedicating a large a mount of time making them feel warm and welcome. Also of course a great big thanks to Scott Nielson who also devoted a lot of time to this project. As Tuvia put it Scott was crazed, with a passion for the kids and a desire for the best for all. Well Done
